Suno unveiled the new music AI model v6 —, the company’s first model built with support from the music industry, according to The Verge AI. According to Jack Brodie of Suno, the model was trained from scratch on a new dataset that does not match the data used for previous models.
The dataset includes content licensed from partners Warner Music Group, BMG and Believe, as well as user data. It remains unclear whether v6 fully excludes content of dubious origin.
Another change is the division of the system into three models: v6, v6-wild and v6-mini. The source does not provide details on the differences between them or access conditions.

Why it matters
Likely consequence — increased scrutiny of how music AI services license training data. The next observable signal will be disclosure of differences between v6, v6-wild and v6-mini and additional details about user data. The main uncertainty is the full composition of the training set for v6.
